Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone’s film ‘Chhapaak’ has been released. The film has not only raged at the box office but has also managed to win over the audience. Recently, the film’s director Meghna Gulzar has given a statement about ‘Chhapaak’, in which he said that the victims of acid attack do not want sympathy and the heroine of his film is also not suffering. With this, Meghna Gulzar said that she does not believe that she needs to satisfy the assumptions where a story of such an attack should have ‘tragedy and sympathy’.
Meghna Gulzar told PTI in connection with ‘Chhapaak’, “When Lakshmi is not a victim herself, I could not show her suffering because I have to satisfy some expectations or perception, because this is a victim’s film that needs tragedy and sympathy. ” Referring to an important conversation between Amol and Malti in the film, he said, “There is no physical profile of an acid attacker. Husbands are attacking acid, landlords are doing, ex-wives are doing.” He said, “There is no profile and it is more dangerous and that’s why Vikrant’s talk is very important.”
Meghna Gulzar while talking about the story of ‘Chhapaak’ said, “I did not want to tell you in a sequence that she was born, she is a girl, she has dreams, aspirations and she is very beautiful But then it happened because the character himself is not suffering. ” He said that it was important for him that the audience should see themselves attached to Malati. Please tell that Deepika Padukone starrer Chhapak film Nirbhaya happened in the backdrop of the protests because the issue of acid violence came up only after that.
