“Sending you all the strength you can”, highlighted the star of ‘Deadpool’
Accustomed to playing heroes like Deadpool and Green Lantern in theaters, Ryan Reynolds also knows how to do good deeds off the screen. The actor moved his followers by recording a special message for Brody Dery, who fights against advanced cancer at the age of 11.
“I just heard a little bit of your story and I would like to send you this video and let you know that I am thinking of you and sending you tons of love and all the strength I can,” said the star. “You have a ton of people in your life who love you very much. I know you’ve been facing an immense challenge lately, but know this, Brody, you are the right guy for this job.”
Brody’s story came to the actor through a video recorded by the young man next to his mother Randi. In the recording, they talk about how they are fans of ‘Deadpool’ and who use the film to relieve tension in the most difficult moments of treatment against Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in stage 3B.
According to Randi, his son was thrilled to watch the video recorded by Ryan. “His mouth fell to the floor. He kept saying, ‘I feel special – I feel like I’m a movie star,'” he explained in an interview with CTV News.
How cool is this? Huge thanks to @VancityReynolds for taking the time to send a message back to Brody Dery from Prince George. Thanks to everyone for helping get the message to Ryan so fast! @ckpgnews pic.twitter.com/dFJJi6huC1
