The 47-year-old actress did not leave fans happy with the statement during an episode of her talk show in which she addressed the subject of the accusations that Depp has suffered from Heard, and vice versa.
Barrymore stated, “It’s like a layer of madness; It’s a seven-layer plunge into insanity.”
“I know these are the real lives of two people and I know what it’s like to have your life exposed in public. I understand all the feelings, but they are really offering us this information,” she added.
It didn’t take long for a short time after the actress’ speech, several netizens spoke out on Twitter against the star’s speech, saying that she was not taking a trial seriously with serious accusations such as Depp and Amber. Check out some comments posted detonating the actress:

After learning that her speech, comparing the trial of the controversial ex-couple to “a seven-layer plunge into insanity”, did not please many, the actress expressed herself through a video on her Instagram.
“I found that I offended people by belittling Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, and for that, I just want to deeply apologize and thank everyone who came forward; because this can be a learning moment for me, about how to move forward and behave,” he declared apologizing for his speech.
“I can be a more caring person and be a better person moving forward because all I want to do is be a good person,” the actress continued. “I really appreciate the depth of it and I will grow and change from there; and I also thank everyone for helping me grow along the way and teaching me. Thanks.”
