Leclerc leads first Formula 1 practice for Miami GP

Charles Leclerc, Ferrari driver, led the first practice for the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix. The Monegasque scored 1:31.098s to be the fastest, just 0.071s ahead of George Russell, from Mercedes. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen was third, 0.179s behind Leclerc’s time.

Valtteri Bottas brought in the first red flag of the weekend and the Miami track. The Finn lost the rear of his Alfa Romeo and stopped at the barriers. Bottas wasn’t the only rider who rode in FP1, as Yuki Tsunoda and Carlos Sainz also rode during the session.

Red Bull’s Sergio Perez was fourth ahead of AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly.

While Leclerc led, his teammate Carlos Sainz was sixth. Williams’ Alexander Albon was seventh.

Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton was eighth. Haas’ Kevin Magnussen and McLaren’s Daniel Ricciardo rounded out the top 10.
