Her too talked about how preparing to play Neytiri is totally different from what she does to play Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy.

“They require a different kind of sacrifice, but they are very unique for their own subjective reasons. Gamora is a much more traditional approach where you wake up at 3 am and you go through the whole prosthetic process. And then, like, once you see yourself and feel Gamora in you, obviously, you transform, you know?” she explained.

Despite her character in avatar also being someone who shows a lot of action, she has a totally different lifestyle from the heroine of Marvel, so she requires different training according to the actress.

“And when it comes to Neytiri, it’s more of a practice. It’s months of training, not just rehearsing with your director, but training with movement coaches, and traveling into the wild and starting to get a feel for what it’s like to make your own food, with all the elements that are around you. And once you use all of that, you bring it to what we call volume, which is the ensemble, when you shoot under performance capture,” she described.
