director of ‘Thor: Love and Thunder‘, Taika Waititi stated what it was like to bring Natalie Portman back to Marvel Cinematic Universebut this time playing the Mighty Thor.
Waititi did not like the decisions involving Jane Foster in the original films.
”You don’t want Natalie (Portman) to come back and play the same character who’s walking around with science equipment. You know, as Thor flies around, she’s left on Earth with that feeling of ‘When is he coming back?’ This is boring. You want her to be part of the adventure.”
He explained to Total Film Magazine.
”Natalie is a lot of fun in real life, and also a little silly, with a great sense of humor, and I don’t think that was explored enough in the first few films. It’s a story where Thor will see the love of his life return to the scene, and now in armor and with identical powers.”
Thor: Love and Thunder follows Thor in search of inner peace, but his retirement is interrupted by Gorr, who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat this threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie, Korg and his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster, who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields Mjolnir as the Mighty Thor.
Together, they embark on a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the Butcher of the Gods’ revenge and stop it before it’s too late.
Thor: Love and Thunder is directed by Taika Waititi and arrives in Brazilian cinemas on July 7.
