The goalkeeper also reinforced the importance of Raposa’s victory against a strong opponent for access to Serie A
It’s no secret that Cruzeiro’s main objective in 2022 is to return to the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. For the third straight season in Serie B, the heavenly fans became more hopeful after the sale of SAF shares to Ronaldo Fenômeno, who has sought to pay Raposa’s debts, in addition to investing in hiring reinforcements. In the G4 of the Segundana, Rafael Cabral believes that a victory over Grêmio, direct opponent for the access, sends a message to the fans.
In a press conference this Saturday (7), the Cruzeiro goalkeeper projected the duel that is worth, at least, the vice-leadership of the championship, in addition to citing the importance of adding three more points: “This game certainly sends a signal to the whole team. championship, that we are strong. But obviously it’s not just this game that will make us reach our goal. It sounds cliché, but for us every game is a final, because at the end of the day it’s three points”, explained Rafael.
Raposa faces Grêmio this Sunday (8), at 4 pm, at Independência, for the 6th round of Serie B. With many candidates to finish the championship in the G4, the traditional teams that are in Segundona have the highest salary sheets, as in the cases of Cruise and Immortal. However, according to UOL Esportes, the gaucho club has a monthly payroll of approximately R$10 million, while the celestial team pays R$2.4 million.
As much as there is a disparity in salary between the teams, Rafael Cabral minimized Grêmio’s 4x higher payroll, exposing Cruzeiro’s differential: “Age doesn’t enter the field. Age, salary, none of that come into play. What comes into the field is personality, how much you dedicate yourself every day. Regardless of their payroll or ours, it doesn’t matter. What matters is the will that we are going to enter the field to represent our fans”, concluded the goalkeeper.
