Corinthians guarantees the isolated leadership of the Brasileiro with victory against RB Bragantino; see table
Corinthians beat Red Bull Bragantino 1-0 on Sunday night for the Brazilian Championship. The three points won ensured Timão the leadership of the tournament.
The triumph this Sunday took the Parque São Jorge team to 12 points. Corinthians’ performance guarantees a two-point advantage for Santos, in second place, who also won their commitment in this round, beating Cuiabá by 4-1. – see the full ranking below.
Still with a few points of difference, the third place is América-MG, with nine. Then, from fourth to eighth position, Red Bull Bragantino, São Paulo, Atlético-MG, Botafogo and Internacional are tied with eight points. There is only one game left for the round to end. Avaí and Coritiba face each other at 8 pm on Monday – both have seven and can only reach ten at the most.
Corinthians’ next commitment in the competition is against Internacional. The teams face each other at 19:00 on Saturday, in Beira-Rio. Before that, Vítor Pereira’s team faces Portuguesa, from Rio de Janeiro, for the Copa do Brasil.
