Short news: Saint X, That 90’s Show, Cruel Summer, and more

As usual, we’ve combined some serious news in this week’s short news so you don’t miss out on what’s (or will) happen, and today we bring you information from Saint X, That 90’s Show, cruel summer and much more!

  • Alycia Debnam-Carey (Fear the Walking Dead) will replace Victoria Pedretti in Saint X, after the latter left the project due to “creative differences”. Thus, Debnam-Carey will play the main character, Emily, an intelligent and ambitious woman whose life built in detail begins to fall apart. The series is about how the mysterious death of a young girl creates a domino effect that ends up pulling her sister into a dangerous search for the truth.
  • Kill the Orange-Faced Bear, which would be starring Damon Wayans Jr. (new girl), after all, will not advance. This cancellation is a “business decision” and has nothing to do with creative issues. This decision was made by Warner Bros. Discovery precisely at the time filming was scheduled to begin. However, it seems that the possibility of the producers trying to find another home for the series is not ruled out yet.   • Josh Radnor (How I Met Your Mother) and Christian Slater (Mr. robot) will join the cast of Fleishman Is in Trouble, an FX miniseries based on Taffy Brodesser-Akner’s debut novel.   • Lexi Underwood (Little Fires Everywhere) will replace newcomer Eloise Payet in one of the lead roles in Season 2 of cruel summer after the most recent script reading between the actors. Charles will play Perlie Armstrong, a family man who wants to build a safe world for his wife and daughters. However, his journey proves to be haunted by loss.
  • Hulu has given the green light to We Were the Lucky Onesan eight-episode miniseries based on the best seller by Georgia Hunter which follows a Jewish family separated at the beginning of World War II. However, these people do not lose hope that one day they will meet again. Joey King (The Act) was confirmed in the lead role.
  • That ’70s Show had already confirmed a spin off on Netflix, but now it is known that the new series will feature Topher Grace, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Laura Prepon and Wilmer Valderrama to resume their roles from the original version. THE spin off it’s called That ’90s Show and is set in 1995, where sex, drugs and rock and roll never die.
