unavailable services

LATAM Pass reported that the following tools will be unavailable:

From the 17th to the 23rd of May:

  • Request retroactive accrual;
  • Accumulate LATAM Pass points by transferring points from credit cards.

If other accruals (points flying with LATAM Airlines, LATAM Pass Itaucard, retailers, accommodation and car rentals) take place within this period, the program stated that they will be reflected in the systems when the aforementioned update ends on May 25 .

Between the 21st and 23rd of May:

  • Make redemptions through the Service Center, LATAM Travel Website and Store, LATAM Pass Website, LATAM Pass Shopping Website and LATAM Airlines Website;
  • Accumulate LATAM Pass points through Transfer, Renewal, Multiplication and Purchase of Points;
  • Subscribe, cancel or change plans in the LATAM Pass Club;
  • Consult statements, carry out changes and registration changes in your LATAM Pass account;
  • Carry out registrations;
  • Unify accounts from different countries;
  • Perform cabin upgrade with coupons.

If you are flying between the 21st and 22nd of May and want to use your Upgrade coupons, LATAM Pass recommends that you apply 48 hours in advance or that you enter a contract through the Call Center.

If you fly between the 23rd and 24th of May, you have a Platinum, Gold Plus or Gold category and want to use your Upgrade coupons, you must contact the Call Center so that they can apply at the central office. If you have the Black Signature or Black category, your application will be carried out automatically.

points expiration

If your LATAM Pass points expire between the 17th and 23rd of May 2022, LATAM recommends that you use them before this period begins. If this is not possible, the system will automatically extend them until May 31, 2022.

The program also informs you that if you accumulate LATAM Pass points between the 17th and 23rd of May, they will be reflected in the systems when the aforementioned update is completed.

Improved credit for qualifying points and segments

According to the program, the update will improve the future customer experience. “We understand the inconvenience this may cause, but this update will improve the future experience on our platform and will benefit the way Qualifying Points and Snippets are credited”.

With the new system, after the update, these Qualifying Points and Segments will be valid for the qualification of the year in which the flight was performed, and can improve their current category up to one year later.

Currently, you can apply for retroactive crediting of Qualifying Points and Segments up to one year after a flight has taken place (if not credited automatically). Qualifying Points and Qualifying Segments corresponding to that flight apply to the qualification for the year in effect at the time of credit.

For example, suppose that the goal for maintaining the Platinum tier is 50,000 Qualifying Points and the goal for upgrading to the Black tier is 100,000. In this scenario, a customer has, at the end of 2021, 80,000 Qualifying Points, therefore remained in 2022 in the Platinum category. In September 2021, he flew on a partner airline where he accumulated 20,000 Qualifying Points and requested the retroactive accrual of these points on February 1, 2022. See the difference below:

  • Actual model: the 20,000 Qualifying Points accrued in September 2021 and credited on February 1, 2022 will accumulate with those earned during 2022, maintaining your Platinum tier until you reach 100,000 Qualifying Points for upgrade to the Black tier.
  • New model: the 20,000 Qualifying Points accrued in September 2021 and accredited on February 1, 2022, will allow the customer to upgrade to the Black category immediately (2021 ending balance: 100,000 Qualifying Points) and enjoy the benefits of the category throughout from 2022 to March 2023.

If you were planning to use any of these LATAM services, plan to not be affected by unavailability on the migration days.
