Petrobras readjusts dividends based on Selic; check new values

Last Tuesday (11), Petrobras announced to the market the readjustments of the dividend payment amounts for the year 2021. This was based on the shareholding position on April 13, 2022, as pointed out in the released document. So, check out the readjustment details below.

In short, the value per share of dividends must be adjusted by the basic interest rate, the Selic, from 12/31/2021 to 05/16/2022. Thus, the payment went from R$ 2.86 to R$ 2.97.

Furthermore, the payment of Petrobras’ dividends should take place next Monday (16). The state explains that: “On the amount corresponding to the monetary restatement, income tax will be levied at the rate of 22.5%, according to current legislation”.
New batch of dividends
Last week, Petrobras announced the distribution of another wave of dividends, with the distribution of R$ 3.71 per share. According to the state-owned company, the division of the value will be:
- 1st installment, in the amount of R$1.857745 per outstanding common and preferred share, to be paid on June 20, 2022;
- 2nd installment, in the amount of R$1.857745 per common and preferred share, to be paid on July 20, 2022.
Finally, the share will be traded “ex-dividends” on May 24, 2022. As for ADRs, from the New York Stock Exchange, ex-dividend trading will be effective as of May 25, 2022.
