After the defeat to Red Bull Bragantino, Rubro-Negro fired coach Paulo Sousa. At the moment, the team is the 13th
Last Wednesday (8), Flamengo was defeated by Red Bull Bragantino by 1-0 and fired coach Paulo Sousa. In addition to the three points lost, Rubro-Negro can also lose the hiring of an Argentine gem for the team from the interior of São Paulo. According to TyC Sports, Red Bull Bragantino presented a millionaire proposal for Facundo Farías and could pay 11 million dollars (about R$ 54 million at the current price).
Also according to ESPN, businessman André Cury was in charge of taking the proposal to Colón, the Club where Farias works, to close the deal. Palmeiras even made a poll for the athlete, but ended up retreating because of the values requested by Colón. The name of the 19-year-old attacking midfielder was also linked by Flamengo.
Facundo Farias appeared at Colón in the 2019-20 season and exploded last year, when the Argentine team won the Argentine League Cup, with the youngster being one of the highlights. He scored eight goals and seven assists that season. In the current one, he already has six goals scored in 21 games, three of them in the group stage of the Copa Libertadores, when Colón qualified in first place.
According to the German website Transfermarkt, the market value of Argentine jewelry is 12 million euros. In February, he extended his contract with the Argentines until December 2025. Within the Flamengo squad, he would be a target to replace Arrascaeta. If he joins Barbieri’s team, he can take Claudinho’s place, as a team reference.
With 12 points in 10 matches in the Brazilian Championship, Flamengo is in 13th place, furthest from the title dispute and close to the relegation zone. The team is just one point above Cuiabá, the team that opens the Z-4 of the competition. Next Saturday (11), Rubro-Negro has a new commitment against Internacional, at the Beira-Rio stadium, in Porto Alegre.
