If the Ibis called itself the “Worst Team in the World”, now it can see its “reign” end. This Saturday (11), playing at Estádio Martins Pereira, in São José dos Campos, Atlético Mogi lost 9-0 to Joseense and reached no less than 55 matches without winning.
Thus, the team from Mogi das Cruzes equals the record of Pernambuco, who have also gone the same number of games without a single victory. In all, there are no less than five years without a win, with 52 defeats and another three draws, with 24 goals scored and 215 conceded – an average of almost four per match.
Atlético Mogi was created in 2004 and currently plays in the Campeonato Paulista of the Second Division, which refers to the fourth tier of football in the state. The team occupies the bottom of group E, which still has Flamengo-SP, Manthiqueira, Joseense, Guarulhos, in addition to União Mogi, its biggest rival.
