Bia Haddad wins unprecedented title and breaks Brazilian fast

The Brazilian Bia Haddad won her first WTA 250 title in her career by defeating the American Alison Riske, 40th in the world ranking, in the decision of the tournament in Nottingham, England.

Bia is establishing herself as one of the greatest Brazilian tennis players in history. She is the first in the country to win a professional tournament on grass since Maria Esther Bueno, who won in Manchester in 1968, thus breaking a 54-year fast.
