If we played with 100%, we would definitely come out with the victory, and that’s not what happened – highlighted the central Lucão.
Brazil started the game at a slow pace. With service errors, and even some positioning errors on the court, such as when the setter Fernando and the central Lucão came to collide during a point, the hosts were not able to print the desired rhythm of play. The scenario only began to change with a pass by Lucão on the serve, in the final part of the first set.
The Chinese lead, which was four points, dropped to just one. China, however, held back the home team’s reaction and closed the first set by a tight 25/23.
