‘The Son’new film from the acclaimed director Florian Zeller (‘My Father’) who brings none other than Anthony Hopkins and Hugh Jackman like the protagonists, it was recently shown at the Venice Film Festival – and became one of the great sensations of the event.
After the broadcast, the film and the actors were applauded by no less than ten minutes, with the cast receiving the most ovations. Some reactions even indicate that the project may be the best of Jackman’s career.

The cast is also made up of Laura Dern (‘Marriage Story’) and Vanessa Kirby (‘Pieces of a Woman’).
Co-written by Zeller and Christopher Hampton (‘Adoration’), the feature follows Peter, who sees his hectic life with his new partner, Emma, and their baby, is transformed with the return of his ex-wife, Kate. She appears with the couple’s teenage son, Nicholas, a troubled, difficult-to-talk, aggressive and distant young man who has just dropped out of school. Peter will do anything to help the boy, but the weight of his condition will put the whole family on a delicate and dangerous path.
The second film in Zeller’s career – who is a playwright – is produced by the Oscar winners Iain Canning and Emile ShermanBesides Joanna Laurie gives See-Saw Films. THE Film4 also co-produces the project.
