Neymar thanks Bolsonaro, but does not declare a vote

Striker Neymar made a video call with President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), who is currently working at the Instituto Projeto Neymar Jr., in Praia Grande (SP). The football player thanked him for the affection, but avoided declaring a vote or sending a political message.

In a video posted on social media, it is possible to hear Neymar speaking to the presidential candidate: “I’m very happy that you are there, for everyone there. Hugs to everyone, thank you for the affection always. It was just to send a hug, thank you”.

The post was made by Lieutenant Mosart Aragão, federal deputy for the president’s party in São Paulo, and Renato Bolsonaro, brother of the chief executive who, after being dismissed from a city hall in São Paulo, presents himself as a “creator of digital content”.

The Minister of Communications, Fábio Faria, later published a recording of Neymar addressed to “President Bolsonaro, Tarcísio [de Freitas]Michelle [Bolsonaro]”. Former minister Tarcísio runs for the government of São Paulo. In the video, the player says he “wanted to be together, but unfortunately I’ll be far away” and asks them to enjoy the visit to the institute.

When publishing the recording, Faria wrote: “Thanks, Neymar! All in green and yellow, with the national team shirt, to vote for our captain next Sunday!”

In the final stretch of the first round of the elections, which take place on Sunday (2), several left-wing artists have declared their support for former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), Bolsonaro’s main opponent.

After Lula’s “superlive” with artists and politicians, Heloísa Bolsonaro, wife of deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), demanded that the right-wing artistic class publicly take a stand in favor of the president’s reelection.
