A new stop-motion animated film from the wicked minds of Oscar-nominated director Henry Selick and Oscar-winner Jordan Peele is coming this fall on Netflix! Selick and Peele co-wrote Wendell & Wild alongside Keegan-Michael Key, Henry Selick and Clay McLeod Chapman.
Not only does the movie look like a lot of fun, but it will also bring together longtime collaborators Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, who you may remember worked together on the comedy series. Key and Skin. Emmy-winning actor Keegan-Michael Key will play Wendell, while Peele will opposite him as his brother Wild.

Wendell & Wild Synopsis
Here’s the official synopsis of the film, courtesy of Netflix:
From the deliciously wicked minds of Henry Selick and Jordan Peele comes Wendell & Wild, an animated tale about demon brothers Wendell (Keegan-Michael Key) and Wild (Peele) – who enlist the help of 13-year-old Kat Elliot – a tough teenager with a load of guilt – to summon them to the Land of the Living. But what Kat demands in return leads to a brilliantly bizarre and comedic adventure like no other, an animated fantasy that defies the law of life and death, all told through the handcrafted artistry of stop motion.
Wendell & Wild release date
Originally, Netflix announced that the film would be released on the platform in October 2022. It appears that they were planning to release it for the Halloween season, which fits the spooky theme of the film. Well, it looks like we were right because Netflix announced that the movie will be released on Friday, October 28, 2022. However, it will be released in select theaters first starting on October 21.

In addition to Key and Peele, the film will also feature Lyric Ross, Angela Bassett, James Hong, Tamara Smart, Natalie Martinez, Tantoo Cardinal, Gabrielle Dennis, Igal Naor, David Harewood, Maxine Peake, Ramana Young, Sam Zelaya, Seema Virdi, Gary. Gatewood and Ving Rhames.
Henry Selick, the intellectual director behind films like James and the Giant Peach, Coraline and Nightmare before Christmaswill direct and produce.

Is there a trailer for Wendell & Wild?
Not. Netflix has yet to release a trailer for the stop-motion animated film. We should receive it by the end of September.
