Redmi Note 9 is in trouble

Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro will no longer receive MIUI 14 in the future. Despite everything, the company continues to test MIUI 13, which is confirmed for these devices.

Xiaomi is one of those manufacturers that practically makes the news every day for a variety of reasons. Be it the launch of its new electric scooter lock, its new smart lock or even a new model of the Redmi Note 11 series, the Chinese manufacturer is a daily presence in the media.

In this case, as indicated by Xiaomiui, this is because one of its most successful mid-ranges does not continue to MIUI 14. We are referring to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9; historically one of the brand’s best-selling mid-range models.

The first thing that catches the eye in the information is that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 has not yet been updated to MIUI 13 Global. An early version of the update was released, but it was withdrawn. This also affects the Pro series of this model, which is still stuck on MIUI 12.5 today. The Chinese manufacturer, in turn, confirmed that it was, however, preparing an update to MIUI 13 for these terminals.

And here ends the good news. As noted, MIUI 14 testing for Redmi Note 9 has been suspended. This indicates that this family of terminals does not receive the update to the new ROM version automatically, although it is still under development.

Xiaomi has stopped MIUI 14 tests for this phone

Namely: Xiaomi is testing MIUI 14 on its new high-end devices, Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro. Some details have already been leaked from the latter and it seems that we will find a real beast at the top. This leaves the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro off the MIUI 14 list. Apparently POCO M2 won’t get MIUI 14 either. MIUI 13 and updates for a while, its lifespan and manufacturer support ends there .

Founded in 2010 by eight investors, including the famous founder of Qualcomm processor, with a certain Chinese entrepreneur at the helm of the project: Lei Jun. Xiaomi’s first idea is to develop an interface based on the Android kernel, called MIUI. For two years, the company built a reputation on Chinese soil and then gradually extended its activities to the borders of Hong Kong and Taiwan.

In conclusion, in mid-2015, Xiaomi officially moved to Brazil. Brazilian production on site is for economic reasons. It is the first country outside the Asian continent, also an important turning point for the company.
