THE Xiaomi launched, this Monday (3), a new cell phone that costs about R$ 400 in direct conversion. O Redmi A1+ stands out for bringing the 120 Hz screen in a low-cost model and with Android 12 Go. The launch still has a dual 8 megapixel camera and 5,000 mAh battery.
The premiere follows the announcement made in China in September. At the time, Xiaomi made the phones of the Redmi A1 line official. But the Redmi A1+ only went on sale this week, starting with stores in Kenya, East Africa, at the suggested price of 10,345 Kenyan shillings (about R$440).
Its main highlight is a specification that usually appears on more expensive cell phones. This is the case of the 6.52-inch screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, present in the iPhone 14 Pro, Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy A53 5G. The panel, however, has HD+ resolution, a notch to house the 5-megapixel front camera and a brightness of up to 400 nits.
The launch has a simple data sheet, led by the MediaTek Helio A22 processor. In addition, in Kenya, the Xiaomi mobile will be on sale only in the edition with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. The 5,000 mAh battery has a 10-watt recharge through the Micro USB port.
Despite the simple specs, the launch comes out of the box with Android 12 Go. It is an optimized version of the operating system for low-cost cell phones with an input data sheet. Even so, don’t expect good performance when running heavier games or applications.
There is no release forecast for the Redmi A1+ in Brazil.
