Even as an experienced actor, Christian Bale was just having his first experience recording in front of a green screen on the set of Thor: Love and Thunder — and, from his words, it wasn’t very positive. In an interview with QAhe described the recordings as “the definition of monotony”.
“You have good people and other actors who are much more experienced at this than I am. Can you tell one day apart? No. Absolutely not. You have no idea what to do. You couldn’t even tell one set from another.” .
So Bale didn’t even try to use the method and went out of character—that is, the villain Gorr—between take and take. “It would be painful to try that. As I was trying to get help with fangs and explaining that I broke a nail, I tripped over my tunic.”
In the feature, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) must go through a midlife crisis in its 1500+ years. In his journey of self-discovery, he will meet other gods, he will meet his lover and also a new extremely lethal adversary: Gorr, the Caniceiro of the Gods (Ballet).
The film also stars Natalie Portman, Chris Pratt and Jaimie Alexander. Thor: Love and Thunder is now available on Disney+.
