Activision Blizzard Revealed Overwatch 2’s FPS Limit Is 600

Overwatch 2 players will be able to run the new Blizzard game at over 500 FPS in 1440p resolution with the GeForce RTX 4090. In an official blog post, Nvidia revealed details of the title’s performance on the manufacturer’s high-end GPUs.

Those who have Nvidia’s high-end graphics card will be able to go over 500 FPS, 507 FPS according to Nvidia with the game running at 1440pproviding to enjoy the game in high quality and maximum performance of the new game from Blizzard.

The number is very close to what Activision Blizzard has defined as the maximum FPS for Overwatch 2. That’s because the publisher revealed that the maximum players can get is 600 FPS, causing Nvidia’s GPU to be a little under the roof.

Nvidia reported that the settings guarantee professional players the best experience when playing Overwatch 2. However, many players choose not to use the settings to the maximum for fear of stuttering or game crashes.

Versions below the GeForce RTX 4090, such as the GeForce RTX 4080 16GB and the RTX 4080 12GB, are also capable of running Overwatch 2 at high performance, with 1440p resolution showing 370 and 300 frames per second, respectively.

“System latency on a GeForce RTX 40 Series GPU is as low as 8 milliseconds and frame rates of over 500 FPS at 1440p,” Nvidia said in its blog post on Wednesday.

Overwatch 2 launch is targeted by DDoS attacks

On the same day it officially arrived for all players, Overwatch 2 was targeted by a targeted denial of service (DDoS) attack. This caused players who were trying to enjoy the game to be in long queues and receive numerous error messages.

Overwatch 2 director Aaron Keller said that Blizzard worked through much of the night to get the issue resolved. However, all the work ended up being jeopardized when a second wave of attacks was identified by the company, increasing the instability of the servers.
