For Tricolor, the game is worth trying for a direct spot for the next edition of the Copa Libertadores, after the fiasco in the final of the Copa Sudamericana.

The rivals make the seventh duel of the year. Both did not face anyone else in 2022. Palmeiras won Paulista over São Paulo, which in turn eliminated Verdão in the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil.
