Although drooping eyelids do not necessarily indicate aging, we know that when we put on makeup, we look for options that make us look more rested, since everyday life is always hectic.
Selena Gomez, who is an example of skincare and beauty, appeared with a perfect makeup to hide tired eyelids, in the presentation of her latest documentary, Selena Gomez: My Mind and Me.
Glamor recently posted tips on how to replicate makeup. Let’s learn?
cut crease smokey: the makeup of Selena Gomez that awakens the eyes
Selena shows us that there is no better makeup than a cut crease smoky to camouflage drooping eyelids. According to the makeup artist who brought this look to life on the actress’ skin, the inspiration for this smoky eye came from Monica Bellucci, as she was ‘always so glamorous’.
Why is it ideal for droopy eyelids? Because the dark shade is found in the ‘flesh’ of droopy eyes, which makes that part appear with less volume. If you want to try it out, see how it’s done below!
Step by step to make a smoked cut crease
Step 1: Prep the eye with a good skincare routine, then with an eyeshadow primer that matches your skin tone, and finally with a beige eyeshadow all over the lid.
Step 2: Using a transition shade, trace the crease shape and blend upwards without touching the brow.
Step 3: Do the same as the previous step, but now with a black shadow. Try to make the intensity just on the line where the cut crease starts and be sure to blend smoothly upwards so it doesn’t get too strong.
Step 4: Make a cat eye as usual and blend some of the black eyeshadow you used earlier on the lower lash line.
Step 5: Clean the eyeshadow, if it’s smudged, with a cotton swab and makeup remover, as well as any imperfections. Finally, apply mascara and define your brows naturally.
And now you have a night makeup for droopy eyelids! If you like to perfect your skin like Selena Gomez, we suggest complementing the rest with a velvet-effect makeup base, soft blush and contour, and satin nude lipstick.
