Timão is looking for a partner to help with the deal and close with the midfielder
With the definition of Fernando Lázaro as coach for 2023, the Corinthians is studying the planning for the season to come. One detail is that the rudder there shouldn’t be much movement in the market until the start of the pre-season.
So far, Alvinegro do Parque São Jorge’s only negotiation is to repatriate Paraguayan striker Ángel Romero. The deal must be sealed at no cost, as the gringo will be free on the market, after agreeing to leave Cruz Azul, in Mexico, as his contract ends on December 31st.
The other big focus of Corinthians in the market, at the moment, is to solve the situation of midfielder Maycon. He belongs to Shakhtar Donetsk, from Ukraine, and is on loan at Timão until the end of this year. According to Jorge Nicola, the Club is looking for a partner to help with the business.
According to a publication on the Globo Esporte website, the deal is considered difficult, since the Ukrainians do not accept releasing the player on a new loan and only accept a definitive agreement. Still according to Nicola, the European team wants around 6 million euros (approximately R$ 33 million) to release the midfielder.
Still regarding the assembly of the squad for 2023, other reinforcements should arrive to strengthen the squad. In addition, some players return from loan and must be evaluated by the board and the coaching staff. Some pieces may have opportunities and others may be borrowed again.
