And since the first film, released in 2014, one of the coolest characters to follow is the Rocket Raccoonwhich was brought to life by Bradley Cooper, with the actor providing a virtually unrecognizable voice for the raccoon.

There are rumors that Rocket will die in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3but now an even crazier theory has gone viral, pointing to a totally unexpected fate for the beloved character. Beware of spoilers🇧🇷

Since the first film, we see Rocket’s fascination with mechanical parts of a body. In the 2014 plot he makes Peter Quill unnecessarily take a prosthetic leg, and in Avengers: Infinity War we see him delivering a mechanical eye to Thor and then showing interest in Bucky’s also mechanical arm.

In the Christmas special now available on Disney+, Nebula even gives Rocket a mechanical arm, which seems to have belonged to Bucky. But what is the character’s ultimate goal with all these mechanical parts?

Rocket gains a mechanical arm in Guardians of the Galaxy.

The theory that has been going viral is that the character already knows that his days are numbered (raccoons don’t live long!), and that’s why he’s been trying to assemble a mechanical body for him, where he can transfer his consciousness before he dies.

Therefore, instead of a definitive death of Rocket in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3what we can see is a radical transformation involving the character, but which at least would still keep him in the MCU for a while longer.
