It wasn’t just Richarlison’s two goals – the most reviewed player on Tite’s team – in Brazil’s victory over Serbia (2×0) in the team’s debut at the World Cup in Qatar that stirred up the green and yellow crowd. On social networks, several memes circulated throughout the match this Thursday (24) afternoon, hours after Internet users scolded Bruna Biancardi, Neymar’s ex-girlfriend, for taking photos of her in a swimsuit.
Among the good-humored shots, emphasis goes to goalkeeper Alisson’s mustache and Brazil’s favoritism after Germany and Argentina’s 2-1 defeats against, respectively, Japan and Saudi Arabia. The negative point occurred on the field after Neymar was substituted and cried with ankle pain.
Goalkeeper Alisson’s mustache at the World Cup is advertising action
In the same way as the number 10 of the Selection, Alisson also appeared with a revamped look. However, the goalkeeper wore a mustache, the result of a partnership with the Gillette brand to raise awareness among men for Blue November, the month to combat prostate cancer.
The mustache was the symbol chosen by the brand in 2020 to represent men’s health and care for their physical and mental aspects. But the look of the goalkeeper from Liverpool (England) did not like the green and yellow fans very much. An internet user compared Alisson to the character from the animation “Divermente”.
Another came out in defense of the archer: “The mustache was lucky”. A third compared it to the character Doofy, from “Everybody Panic”. And there were those who remembered another player – Fred, who retired this year – and Murilo Benício in “Pantanal”.
