Player was on loan last season
Corinthians had a good season in 2022, managing to stay in the G-4 of the Brazilian Championship, in addition to being runner-up in the Copa do Brasil. For 2023, the team has a new coach, Fernando Lázaro, who is working behind the scenes at the Club with the arrivals and departures of players. In addition, loaned athletes are also having their futures defined.
One of the cases is striker Matheus Davó, who played last season for São Bernardo in the first half and later was one of the highlights of Bahia in Série B, where he played in 36 games, scoring nine goals and providing four assists. According to Meu Timão, Davó should return to Corinthians in the pre-season.
With a contract until the end of 2024, Davó has already received polls from European football. In August, the striker turned down a proposal from Russian football. According to NE45, at the time, the proposal would revolve around 1.5 million euros (a value that corresponds to approximately R$ 8.2 million at the current exchange rate). The player continued in Esquadrão de Aço, but had to leave due to the price to be purchased.
For Corinthians, Davó played seven games, with two goals scored, after standing out at Guarani. Afterwards, he went through Philadelphia Union (USA), São Bernardo and Bahia. If he stays in Timão’s squad, Davó will have competition from athletes like Roger Guedes, Adson and Yuri Alberto, well used by Corinthians last season.
