Paulinho the new reinforcement of Atltico
Atlético announced, this Thursday morning (12/1), the signing of attacking midfielder Paulinho, 22 years old. The player arrives on loan from Bayer Leverkusen, from Germany, and should sign permanently with Galo in mid-2023.
The soap opera for the signing of Paulinho by Atltico was already old. The player was dissatisfied with the few opportunities he had been receiving at the German club and longed for a return to Brazilian football.
Praised several times by Rodrigo Caetano, director of football at Atlético, Paulinho can perform different functions in the attack and was approved by Eduardo Coudet, the new coach of the team from Minas Gerais. The young man became the first reinforcement of the Rooster for the 2023 season.
In September, the attacking midfielder had already “heated up” the transfer rumors by following Atltico’s official account on Instagram🇧🇷 This Thursday, Paulinho celebrated the success by posting a video of Ronaldinho Gacho singing while still playing at Galo: “I love life! I can’t waste a single minute, I love living. I love life!”, says the song .
The striker’s resume is full of achievements with the base selections. Paulinho lifted the U-15 South American Cup (2015), the U-17 South American Cup (2017), the Toulon Tournament (2019) and was part of the Brazil group that won a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics ( 2020).
