Carlos Queiroz issued a message on his social networks, this Wednesday morning (30), saying goodbye to his post as coach of Iran after the elimination of the selection in the World Cup in Qatar. This was the second time that the coach led the Iranian squad, after having been in charge between 2011 and 2019.
At the Qatar World Cup, Iran finished third in Group B, behind England and the United States. In three matches, they won once and lost twice, precisely to the qualified teams.

“Boys and dear friends, in football there’s no such thing as moral victories, but it’s also not against morality when you don’t achieve your dreams, as long as you’ve given your best with all your will and winning mentality. I’m proud of you, you were once again brilliant on and off the field. It was an honor and a privilege to be part of this footballing family. I believe you deserve respect, offering credibility to your country and football fans. I wish you joy, peace, success and health. Thanks.”
