“It’s not about football”, says Eduardo Bolsonaro’s wife about going to Qatar

Heloísa Bolsonaro, wife of federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), responded this Thursday (1st) to accusations that she and her husband were doing tourism during the World Cup in Qatar. Both were caught on Monday (28) by FIFA cameras, at the stadium where Brazil and Switzerland faced each other.

The psychologist presents a contradictory speech: she says, at the beginning of her message, that the trip to the country in the Middle East had already been planned for a year with an unidentified host and supposedly paid with her own resources – but that “when we had the results of the elections in Brazil we were devastated and in no mood for anything”.

However, the couple’s mission would be eminently political, argues Heloísa. “Who only sees this does not see ahead what is behind”, continued. She also defended her husband’s version of the facts: that she had gone to the country to deliver pen drives about Brazil.

“Whoever is making fun of ‘pen drives’ has no idea that certain people and certain subjects can only happen in person and with content in hand”continued. “It may seem that we are enjoying life, but you can’t even imagine the ‘life’ we lead.”
