Xhaka makes obscene gesture and causes confusion in Switzerland victory

Switzerland’s number 10, Granit Xhaka, started a widespread confusion in the 3-2 victory against Serbia, today (2), for the World Cup in Qatar, when he made an obscene gesture during the second half.

As the Serbs complained about a penalty on Mitrovic, Xhaka started an argument and reached for his private parts. The Serbian bank revolted with the player’s attitude. The arbitration tried to control the tempers, but the mouths extended into the field.

On the field, goalkeeper Vanja went to satisfy Xhaka, and the other players, from both teams, joined in the confusion, which dissipated after a few minutes.

The weather, however, was hot from the start of the match. Switzerland’s Shaqiri taunted the Serbia fans as he celebrated the Swiss’ first and put a finger to his mouth, asking for silence.

Vlahovic responded in the first half by repeating the gesture to make it 2-1 for the Serbs.

Before the widespread confusion at the end of the game, athletes from Switzerland had been surprised by Serbia’s bench at the beginning of the second half, but the friction was quickly controlled and resulted in a yellow card for Rajkovic, Serbia’s reserve goalkeeper who was not even on the field .

With the result, Switzerland qualified in second place in Group H and will face Portugal in the round of 16.
