Paulo Bento coached Portugal in the 2014 World Cup and leads South Korea in this World Cup
The first meeting with Canarinho took place in September 2013, when the coach was in charge of Portugal. Bento led his home country between 2010 and 2014, with 26 wins, 11 draws and ten defeats in 47 games in that period.
Friendlies between Brazil and South Korea
After the end of his spell in the Portuguese national team, Paulo Bento coached Cruzeiro, Olympiacos and Chongqing Liangjiang, before taking charge of South Korea in August 2018.
The goals were scored by right-back and midfielder Lucas Paquet, called up for this World Cup, as well as attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho, who was left out of Tite’s list due to injury.
In June of this year, the teams faced each other at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, in Seoul, capital of South Korea. Richarlison, Neymar (twice), Coutinho and Gabriel Jesus scored in the 5-1 victory for the Brazilian team. Hwang Ui-jo cashed out for the South Koreans.
