The actress revealed the motivations behind the plot and what audiences can expect from ‘Barbie’ in a new interview
Since it was announced, the live-action of ‘Barbie‘, became one of the most anticipated feature films of 2023 for promising to bring an entirely new version of the stories involving the Mattel doll. Thinking about that, Margot Robbiethe character’s interpreter and also the feature film’s executive producer, told in an interview with Vanity Fair, the thoughts behind the creation of the plot that the production intends to take to the big screen:
Making an obvious Barbie movie would have been extremely easy to do, and anything easy to do is probably not worth doing… People have strong feelings. I prefer that to indifference.”
In addition, the actress anticipated what doll lovers can expect from the plot, promising that the film will “subvert the expectations” of those who watch it. “It’s a lot scarier, but it’s also a great place to start,” she adds.
