Player was Brazilian champion for Rubro-Negro and has been the target of Tricolor gaucho
Grêmio secured its place in the next edition of the first division of the Brazilian Championship after a year in Série B. With the victory over Brusque in the last round, it ended the Segundona in vice-leadership, with 65 points. At this moment, the backstage of the tricolor gaucho turns to the preparation of the team for the next season.
With the move towards renewing the cast for next year, one of the most talked about names behind the scenes at Imortal is Pepê. Former Flamengo, the Cuiabá player received an official offer from the Rio Grande do Sul club, but the Mato Grosso team played hard. This time, according to information found by Globo Esporte, Tricolor increased the proposal.
Transfer values have not yet been disclosed, and the midfielder’s economic rights are divided into 80% for Cuiabá and 20% for Flamengo. According to Globo Esporte, Grêmio will not acquire all the rights of Pepê, who played in 30 rounds of the last Brazilian Championship, 27 of them as a starter, and scored one goal.
In the previous edition, Pepê already started his time at Cuiabá as a starter, playing 33 of the 34 rounds of the championship since the beginning. At the age of 24, Pepê was champion of the Brasileirão in 2020 with Flamengo and, according to the Transfermarkt portal, the player has a market value of 1.5 million euros, approximately R$ 8.25 million.
