Messi’s wife and children repeat ‘lucky’ shirt in games

In his last World Cup, Lionel Messi has a special crowd in Qatar, his wife Antonela Roccuzzo and sons Thiago, Mateo and Ciro. Confirmed presence in the stands of Argentina’s games in this World Cup, the family drew attention for adopting a “lucky shirt”.

The second kit of the Argentine national team was adopted as a “mulet” by the Messi family during the Qatar Cup. In the three victories of the selection in this World Cup, Antonela and the three children posed for a photo in the stands with the purple shirt.

Antonela’s first post with the mantle came after the game against Mexico, which ended in a 2-0 victory for Argentina. Messi scored a goal.

The shirt has also brought luck to the Argentine captain, who already has three goals and a fight — alongside Gakpo (NL), Mbappé (FRA), Morata (ESP), Rashford (ING) and Enner Valencia (EQU) — by artillery in Qatar.

It remains to be seen whether the family will keep up the tradition next Friday (9), at 12:00 (Brasília time), against the Netherlands, at Lusail Iconic, for the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Qatar.
