In the video, which is about 2min50s long, it is possible to see how the external and internal part of the new black and white house will look like. The development of the new stadium now requires the approval of the club’s members, who will take a position in the General Assembly to be held on December 17th.
If approved by the partners, the company, which will cover all construction costs, will start the search for BRL 200 million with the sale of stadium products (boxes and chairs), in addition to financial support and funding to start construction. .
The project is valued at R$ 300 million. WTorre guarantees that it already has an agreement with two banking institutions to finance the remaining R$ 100 million.
If, during the construction process, the company does not have the financial conditions to finish the work, insurance in the agreement between the parties causes a bank to bear the expenses and hire a new company so that the development of the enterprise does not stand still.
The construction company foresees two years of execution of the works from the beginning of the construction.
In addition to financial issues, Santos and WTorre need City Hall authorizations to start the work. Present at the meeting, Fábio Ferraz, Secretary of Planning for the City, stated that the Municipal Administration is “enthusiastic about the project”.
The presentation of the new project was made by the CEO of WTorre, Claudio Macedo, and the architect of the construction company, Luiz Volpato.
The readjustment of the project was necessary due to the high cost of construction material during the new coronavirus pandemic.
Among the main changes in the projects are a reduction from 89,000 square meters of built area to 70,000 square meters of built area and one less parking slab, which makes the 900 spaces of the initial project become 576 spaces.
The stadium’s synthetic lawn will not be covered, but 100% of the stadium’s stands will be covered.
The capacity of the stadium in the new project is 30,108 capacity on match days. As for events such as a show, the capacity will vary between 25,000 and 40,000 people.
Of the 30,000 seats on match days, 13,769 will not have seats for fans. In the stands, 7,652 will be for fans who prefer to watch games sitting down.
The remaining seats will be allocated to an upper bleacher with chairs, with 2,605 seats; 80 cabins, with capacity for 1,060 people, and two premium decks, one capable of absorbing 3,877 standing fans and the other for 1,146 seated Santos fans.
The construction company, which will have control of the stadium for 30 years, will have no influence on the price of tickets for Santos fans on match days. This decision will be entirely up to the club board.
The box office on game days will be 100% Santos, as well as expenses with electricity, hiring security services, replacing broken chairs and other routine expenses. Apart from that, the maintenance of the stadium will be fully funded by WTorre.
