3D WITHOUT GLASSES? ‘Avatar 2’ Producer Reveals If They’re Working on the Tech

Initially slated to debut in 2014, ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ it took much longer to get ready and was delayed by seven years. In 2018, the director James Cameron revealed that he was working on a NEW technology where the 3D projection will not need glasses🇧🇷

In an EXCLUSIVE interview with CinePOP, the producer Jon Landau was asked by journalist Renato Marafon if they are still working on this technology and if 3D is the future.

“We are not working on it. People think of sunglasses as a negative, but when you go to the beach, sunglasses are part of the experience. When I put these glasses on in theaters, it transforms my experience. And I will have a better experience because of it.”

The final cut of the sequence has 3 hours and 10 minutesbeing 28 minutes longer than the first film.

The first chapter of ‘Avatar’ had nothing less than 162 minutes long (that is, almost two hours and forty minutes) – and the filmmaker has already said that he wants to go further in the sequence.

Set over a decade after the events of the first film, ‘Avatar: The Way of Water🇧🇷 begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri and their children), the problems that accompany them, the efforts they make to stay safe, the battles they fight for survival and the tragedies they endure.
