Almost 50% of Corinthians registered in the Copinha dispute the tournament for the first time in the club

Last Saturday morning, Corinthians officially released the entries for the next edition of the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior. The list chosen by coach Danilo has 30 names, 13 of which are debutants in the main youth category tournament on the planet.

It is noteworthy that, among the 14 debutants, two of them have already become part of the plans of the professional Corinthians team in 2022. This is the case of Breno Bidon and Wesley, mentioned several times for commitments of the top team – the last one, including, came to enter in four matches.

Some of the other newcomers were already at the club in the last Cup, but ended up being passed over by older athletes, with more experience in the U-20 category. The situation applies to Cadu, Vitor Meer, Caipira, Renato, Cressi, Gabriel Moscardo, Kayke, Juninho and Guilherme Henrique.

Finally, some of the players who arrived at the club this year can wear the alvinegra shirt for the first time in the tournament. The club’s capture brought in 2022 goalkeeper Igor Eduardo, left-back Abimael and striker Higor Farias (this one even stood out in the last edition by XV de Jaú).

The Copinha is scheduled to start on January 2nd, but Corinthians is still waiting for table definitions to know the day of its debut. Timão’s opponents in the first phase are Ferroviária, Fast Club, from Maranhão, and Zumbi, from Alagoas.
