Before the first duel this Sunday, Patrick Alves had posted on Twitter a print of his bet on one of the main applications in the field in which he had placed R$ 2 on a bet with the exact results of the first four games of the round of 16.
The two reais invested promised a return of R$ 152,100, if the bet hits. After hitting the 2 to 1 of the Argentina regarding the Australia and the 3 to 1 of Netherlands about the United Statesthe 26-year-old decided to withdraw the bet and guarantee a profit of BRL 400.
The “problem”, however, was that he had bet on the French 3-1 over the Poles, which happened. When England beat Senegal 3-0, the tweet “blew up”🇧🇷
In an interview with ESPN, Patrick spoke about the feeling of watching the games knowing that he had “given” the bet.
The saddest day of my life is today, I ended it before the game ended 😭 https://t.co/H7LZIdBYME

Ball forward, am I sad? Yea
But I see it as something that belongs to me until I have the money in my account, I won’t beat myself up about it, life goes on ♥️—Patrick (@patrickalvesofc) December 4, 2022
What a crazy day hahaha I almost won a lot of money with 2 reais, and no guys I’m not going to kill myself hahaha I’m still going to make other bets just like this if one hits I’ll come back here to tell you ♥️😊

“Of course, I was very sad. But when I made the bet with two reais, it was something that I already expected would not work out”, he said.
“So when France was over, I went to play League of Legends to distract myself and when I came back everyone was commenting on Twitter. I ended up laughing a lot with people’s comments. I wanted to reply to everyone, but there were too many people (laughs)” , continued.
Finally, the resident of the city of São Paulo spoke about the conflicting feeling between having secured the BRL 400, but knowing that he could have earned BRL 152,000.
“Face, with R$ 150 thousand I would be jumping with joy (laughs). Certainly, the feeling of ‘I could be with R$ 150,000’ is much greater (than having guaranteed the R$ 400)”, he concluded.
