Cristiano Ronaldo will be an Al-Nassr player from January 1st. According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, the number 7 of the Portuguese national team accepted the contract offered by Al-Nassr, from Saudi Arabia.
According to the news portal, the player will sign for two and a half seasons, receiving around 200 million euros per season (about R$ 1.1 billion at current prices).
With the amount that Cristiano will receive, he exceeds the salaries of Messi (75 million euros) and Neymar (70 million euros) at PSG.
Cristiano is determined to lower the competitive level due to the economic aspect. Marca says that the ‘step back’ in his career, sportingly speaking, is due to the drop in his level in recent years – the 37-year-old striker is receiving criticism even in his country for his performances in the World Cup.
“I don’t know, I haven’t talked to him [Cristiano Ronaldo] about this. I didn’t even know, I knew now, before I came here. It is his decision, his issue, which is completely focused on the World Cup”, explained Fernando Santos, coach of the Portuguese national team, in a press conference, a few hours after the publication of the news.
Two weeks ago, Manchester United announced that Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract had been terminated by mutual agreement with immediate effect.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, a specialist in the European football market, the Red Devils will save 17 million pounds (about R$ 108 million at current prices) with the departure of the number 7 shirt, since the athlete agreed to leave the team without receiving any payment.
Concentrated with Portugal in Qatar, CR7 returns to the field tomorrow, at 4 pm, against Switzerland, in the round of 16 of the World Cup, at the Lusail stadium.
