One of the novelties is the Google Reading Mode app, which now facilitates the screen reading experience for people with low vision, blindness and dyslexia. The platform offers text-to-speech conversion, color contrast customization, and different font sizes. The Photos app has already received an update with new montage styles, where you can select photos to create collages with custom formats and styles – including Christmas themes.

Also, a new widget was also added to YouTube, and it is now possible to insert a search bar for the app directly on the mobile home page. Shortcuts to library videos, Subscriptions and Shorts have also been added to the widget.

Google TV, the application that shows which movies and series are available on streaming platforms, now streams content to the TV directly through the application. The service previously only recommended titles on streams like Disney + and Prime Video, and forwarded them to the official app. With the update, it becomes possible to stream content on TV directly through the Google app.

Another change is that users with a digital car key can now share access with others. The digital car key allows you to lock and unlock doors, in addition to starting the vehicle. With the update, sharing can be done using an activation code via the Wallet app, and is available for Pixel 6 phones or higher and Samsung Galaxy S21 or higher.

Regarding smartwatches, changes in Wear OS now offer more integration with Google Maps, which allows navigation to home or work through the watch. The accessory’s weather forecast area now also displays sunrise and sunset times through the Weather app.

The Keep to-do platform has also streamlined the Wear integration, and now photos, co-authors and background colors added to in-app notes are also visible on Wear smartwatches.

Also new for the watches is quick calling to up to five of your favorite contacts from the Contacts app, and pairing with the Adidas Running app for training tracking. Gboard’s emoji combination mode also got updates, and now brings new types of combinations – which can be useful for the end of the year festivities, for example, with new custom stickers for the dates (see here how to do it).

The news will be rolled out gradually to all Android 13 users.
