The president-elect, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), celebrated today the victory of the Brazilian team by 4 to 1 against South Korea, in a match valid for the round of 16 of the Men’s Soccer World Cup, held in Qatar. Lula asked his followers if they were excited about the rout and congratulated the players for the result achieved.
“Excited about the result? Congratulations to our players”, wrote Lula, wearing the yellow shirt, on social networks.
The PT was also thrilled with the result in Brazil, but made a gaffe and slipped in Portuguese. “Jogasso (sic), just emotion! The hexa come! Good, Brazil”, highlighted the caption. The word “jogaço”, however, is spelled with “ç”. (See post below)
In 12 minutes of play, Tite’s team already had 2-0 on the scoreboard and the place forwarded to the quarterfinals of the World Cup. The ball continued and, with 28 minutes played, Brazil scored the third. And in the 35th minute, Lucas Paquetá invaded the area and hit it beautifully, from the right: 4-0 at halftime.
It was the first time that Brazil scored four goals in just the first half since 1954, in the 5-0 victory over Mexico, in the World Cup in Switzerland.
Korea reduced the score in the second half, with a great goal by Paik Seung-Ho from outside the area. But that was it. With the result, the Brazilian team will face Croatia, who beat Japan earlier, in the quarterfinals.
Neymar does not keep promise to Bolsonaro
When scoring the second goal for the Selection against South Korea, Neymar celebrated with his teammates and went to the stands to hug Alex Telles, who suffered an injury to his right knee and is out of the tournament.
Thus, the number 10 did not fulfill the promise he made to President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) during the election campaign in Brazil, which would be to dedicate his first goal to him in the World Cup in Qatar.
“The World Cup is close. Everything would be wonderful, Bolsonaro re-elected, Brazil champion and everyone happy”, said the striker, at the time, following a live of the then candidate for re-election.
