The PT member sent a hug and wished health to Pelé, who is hospitalized at Albert Einstein Hospital, in São Paulo, receiving palliative treatment for cancer.
“We all have to hope that the greatest symbol of the Brazilian national team and of Brazilian football can recover and be among us to celebrate winning the sixth title. Pelé, health to you”, said Lula.
The petista also said he believes in winning the title for the national team, if the team acts “with the seriousness that they played in the first half”. The president-elect said that the result was very important. Today’s match ended with a 4-1 victory for Brazil.
The Brazilian team decided the game in the first half and managed to qualify for the quarterfinals. Now, he will face Croatia, on Friday (9), at 12h (Brasília time), at Cidade da Educação stadium.
The current president, Jair Bolsonaro (PL), has not yet commented on social media about Pelé’s health status. Bolsonaro also did not publish anything related to the World Cup or about the games in Brazil.
