Robert Downey Jr. Reveals What He Misses Most About Iron Man

The most recognizable face in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe is, without a doubt, Robert Downey Jr., who lived Iron Man. Fans miss the actor and the character a lot, and Downey Jr. also commented on what he misses most about the MCU.

In an interview with Deadline, he commented that he looks back fondly and listed the most notable parts of his film journey:

“What do I miss the most? Being in the trenches with Kevin Feige the entire time; the beginning, with Jon Favreau, is like a beautiful dream now; in between, with Shane Black in Iron Man 3, we just had Exton and filmed mostly in Wilmington NC. It was idyllic and subversive. And Endgame, when I realized I had made so many close friends in the MCU cast, and the Russo Brothers helping me embrace Tony’s arc.”

The actor also talks about the audition process for playing Iron Man:

“Another full circle story. I traded my previous obsession for an obsession with this role and getting it, and lest we forget, it was Favreau who was pushing for me, but he knew he had to play politics or he wouldn’t have the leverage to move forward.”

He then comments on the execution of the first film and everything that came after it, as the feature entailed the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe:

“So we went on to launch a historic execution of what is now the cinematic universe with Favreau and I essentially making our version of a big budget movie. With all the templates of a genre film, with our intention to make it as marketable as possible.”

Robert Downey Jr. certainly misses being in the MCU, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to return anytime soon, although there are rumors about his return in avengers 6🇧🇷
