Amazon’s Prime Video released a teaser for “Daisy Jones & The Six” to announce the attraction’s premiere date, which was set for March 3 on streaming.
Adaptation of the novel of the same name by writer Taylor Jenkins Reid – also released in Brazil with the title in English -, the series will present the ups and downs of a renowned rock band from the 1970s, led by the character of the title.
Daisy Jones is described as a girl who was born into a privileged family and leaves her parents to pursue a career as a singer, starting to participate in the Los Angeles rock music scene.
The main role is played by actress Riley Keough (“Mad Max: Fury Road”), who is none other than the granddaughter of Elvis Presley. And, by the way, she once played a 1970s rocker in the movies. In 2010’s “The Runaways”, she played singer Marie Currie, sister of Cherie Currie (Dakota Fanning).
“Daisy Jones & The Six” was created by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, screenwriters of the hits “The Fault in Our Stars” (2014) and “Disaster Artist” (2017), and will have episodes directed by New Zealand filmmaker Niki Caro (from the movie “Mulan” and the series “Anne with an E”).
The production was handled by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine (“The Morning Show”) company, and the cast also includes actress and model Suki Waterhouse (“Miss Revolution”), fellow model and actress Camila Morrone (from the remake of ” Valley Girl”), Josh Whitehouse (who also starred in “Valley Girl”), star Sam Claflin (“Enola Holmes”), newcomer Will Harrison (seen in “Madam Secretary”), Nabiyah Be (“Black Panther”) and Sebastian Chacon (“Penny Dreadful: City of Angels”).
