SKU has RDNA 2 graphics cores
Xiaomi already operates in the computer segment, more specifically with notebooks, but now the Chinese company will offer mini PCsalong the lines of the Intel NUC. Xiaomi’s little machine is powered by one of AMD’s strongest APUs, the Ryzen 7 6800H.
The mini PC has a very standard design when we talk about this type of product. Its biggest highlight, as already mentioned, is the Ryzen 7 6800H, an APU of 8 Zen 3+ cores (16 threads) clocked between 3.2 GHz and 4.7 GHz.
This SKU has AMD Radeon 680M graphics, with 12 compute units based on RDNA 2 operating in 2.2GHz🇧🇷 The Ryzen 7 6800H is an APU with 45W TDP.
Xiaomi’s mini PC has two versions: the first, without storage unit and RAM memory (only the SoC) which costs 2999 RMB (about US$ 427), and the other with 16 GB LPDDR5 and 512 GB of storage for 3999 RMB ($570).
In addition to the unnamed mini PC, Xiaomi has also introduced another computer, which is also small (not like the other one), but no hardware has been revealed. The only part inside this PC is a 100 W SFF power supply. The case size is enough to fit a dual slot video card.
These Xiaomi computers would be revealed during the launch event of the Xiaomi Mi 13, the company’s new high-end cell phone, but it was postponed. Not to miss the occasion, Xiaomi revealed the computers shown here to a small group of people.
AMD Ryzen 6000 APUs
The Ryzen 6000 lineup offers APUs in three different categories. The first one, focusing on low power (15-28W) for thin and light notebooks, offers the U-series SKUs with Ryzen 5 6600U (6/12) and Ryzen 7 6800U (8/16).
The middle category, with HS series APUs for thin but more powerful notebooks, has four APUs: Ryzen 5 6600HS, Ryzen 7 6800HS, Ryzen 9 6900HS and Ryzen 9 6980HS, all consuming 35 W and also offering between 6 and 8 cores.
The enthusiast series, which is made up of SKUs with the same nomenclature as the previous one, with the exception of the HX at the end, offers stronger APUs with a TDP of 45 W and above. Among all series, APUs offer 6 graphics cores for Ryzen 5 and 12 cores for Ryzen 7 and 9.
