Solo: A Star Wars Story screenwriter Jonathan Kasdan revealed in a recent interview that he would like to develop a retcon for Qi’Ra.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter🇧🇷 kasdan commented on the development of the character played by Emilia Clarke. The screenwriter pointed out a “hole” in the story, revealing that he would love the opportunity to develop a retcon for the character.

“If Dryden Vos [Paul Bettany] is so concerned about exposing his gang in the theft of [Kessel]why does he send his most trusted helper [Qi’ra] to be the most visible member of the team that steals the coaxium?” he asked. “Looks to me like he’s going to have to kill her almost immediately just to part with this job. So that always drove me crazy, and it was an issue I was looking forward to reworking into a sequel.”
