Doctor Strange 2 gave and continues to give what to talk about among Marvel fans. After all, the Multiverse of Madness was one of the most controversial films of Phase 4 of the MCU. Taking risks along daring paths, many fans were disappointed with the direction of the film.
Who also seems not to have liked some of the ideas and jokes in the film is actress Hayley Atwell. Hayley, as you well know, is our eternal Peggy Carter, who made her debut in the first captain America and frequently continues to appear in the MCU.
Which brings us to the Multiverse of Madness, which brought Captain Carter into the live-action universe after her introduction in what if🇧🇷 However, in the film we see Peggy being one of the victims of the Scarlet Witch.
On this, Hayley hinted that the cameo in Doctor Strange 2 is not what she hoped for the character. Check it out, via Digital Spy:
“It definitely wasn’t, you know, the trajectory that I envision for Peggy. I would definitely like to see her have more to do.”
Regarding future appearances in the MCU, Hayley had this to say:
“It depends on what Marvel, and what the public, wants. I’m in her custody. Compared to the rest of my career and everything I’ve ever done. Or my work in plays or doing Mission: Impossible now and all the diversity of roles that I’ve played.
And the diversity that I can explore and be able to play more complex roles, villains and a lot of different things. She is no longer mine.”
We know that Captain Carter, the one who WOULDN’T lose in a fight against Wanda, will be back in the spotlight in Season 2 of What If.
But will its live-action version earn redemption? For Hayley, for Peggy, for the fans… we need to see this happen!
