Centenary couple die hours apart after 8 decades of love

The couple Hubert and June Malicote, both 100 years old, spent eight decades together and even when it was time to say goodbye, they didn’t stay apart for long. After 79 years of marriage, they died just 20 hours apart in the United States.

According to the Dayton Daily News, from Ohio (USA), the American couple died last week. They “left together,” their son Sam explained.

Sam said that June fell ill after Thanksgiving, celebrated on November 24, when she underwent hospice care. Her husband, Hubert, did not react well to the news and “collapsed” when he found out about his wife’s state of health.

Hubert and June were admitted to a hospital for the terminally ill and stayed together until he died at 9:15 pm on 30 November. About 20 hours after Hubert’s death, June died at 5:40 pm on 1 December.

I feel sad, but I shouldn’t. Who can expect to live such a life? They lived a long and happy life together and were devoted to God and family. Sam, the couple’s son

Hubert and June met in 1941, but they spent time apart because he went to serve in the US Navy during World War II. When he returned, the two were married. Together, they had three children, seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
